A snapshot from presenters at the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota 2018 Symposium and what they are reading.
Earlier this week in downtown Minneapolis, the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota hosted their annual Symposium for financial advisers, two full days worth of networking, CE, and traversing through the skyway. Previously recognized on the Nerd's Eye View Blog as the best conference in terms of value for advisers - quality of speakers, amount of CE, size, and affordability - the 2018 Symposium was no exception, with a record-breaking number of attendees and an overall great preview for what to expect in 2019 as FPA of Minnesota hosts the national conference for the first time.
Although there were close to 30 different presentations, workshops, and breakout sessions from a wide range of topics, there was at least one common element every speaker I listened to had in their presentation: a reference or recommendation to a book.
To give you an idea as to what some of the best speakers in the financial services industry are reading (or writing themselves), here is a list of the books that had been mentioned throughout the last two days, along with the topic and the speaker who made the mention.
Just a quick note: I'm sure I missed plenty of others from the sessions I was unable to attend, so if you happened to attend the FPA of MN Symposium 2018 and want me to add anything else, connect with me on Twitter @capurkat or LinkedIn.
